Carbondale, PA
Busy all year.
Still not sure you made money.
I am John DeAntonio. I keep the books and the back office paperwork for small businesses around Carbondale, so you stop guessing at your own numbers and get your Sunday nights back.

Where the month goes
Most small shops look at their numbers once a year, at tax time. By then the year is over. Every decision you could have changed is already made. That is not a bookkeeping problem. It is a timing problem.
- The receipts live in a truck console, a drawer, and an email inbox.
- You do the books on Sunday night, or you do not do them at all.
- You are not sure which jobs made money and which ones only kept you busy.
- An invoice from six weeks ago is still not paid and nobody has chased it.
- Every March you hand over a shoebox and hope for the best.
None of that means you are bad at business. It is a job nobody was ever hired to do. That is the job I do.
What I take off your desk
Four things, in this order. You do not have to buy all of them.
Catch up the books
Months behind, or years. I sort out the pile, match it to the bank, and get you current.
Keep them current every month
Accounts matched, bills entered, reports out. The same rhythm every single month.
Get invoices out and money in
Invoices sent on time, and a short list of who owes you what, so nothing sits for six weeks.
Make sense of the numbers
A plain English read on where the money went, which work pays, and what the next few months look like.
I work in whatever software you already use. If you do not use any yet, we can start on paper and fix that later.
How I work
Closed by the 10th
Here is the whole promise. Every month, by the tenth, last month is finished and the summary is in your hand. Not in March. Not when you finally ask for it. By the tenth.
Books closed. Summary sent.
- Every account matched to the bank, to the penny.
- Bills and invoices entered and up to date.
- One page you can actually read, showing where the money went.
- If a month ever slips, you hear it from me first, before you have to ask.
Tell me what is slipping. I will tell you what I would do about it.

How we would start
We sit down
An hour, at your place or over coffee, no charge. You tell me what is slipping. I ask a lot of questions and take notes.
You get a plan and a price in writing
Before I touch anything, you know what I am going to do, in what order, and what it costs. If the answer is that you do not need me yet, I will tell you that too.
We clean up, then we hold the rhythm
First the backlog. Then the monthly routine, closed by the tenth, every month, without you chasing me for it.
Who this is for
Small shops in and around Carbondale. Contractors, trades, and family owned service businesses. One person up to about twenty. Usually the owner is also the bookkeeper, the dispatcher, and the last one to leave at night.
If you are growing and the paperwork has stopped keeping up, that is the normal time to call.
Who it is not for
Big companies that already have a finance department. And anyone looking to have their taxes prepared.
I am not a tax preparer and I do not replace yours. My job is to hand your preparer a clean, finished year so their job is easy and their bill is smaller.
This is a new firm, and I am not going to pretend otherwise
JRG 4 Consulting opened in December 2025. You will not find a wall of logos on this page, because I have not earned them yet. Here is what being new actually means for you.
- You get me. Not a junior, not a call center, not a different person every quarter.
- You are not client number four hundred. Your month gets a person who has time to look at it.
- You can start small. Take one piece, see how it goes, and add the rest only if it is working.
You are not bad with paperwork. You are good at the work you actually sell. The goal is that you walk into every month knowing your number.
What it costs
Six months behind is a different job than two years behind, so I am not going to put a number on a website and pretend it fits your shop. Here is how the money part works instead.
- The first sit-down costs you nothing.
- You get the price in writing before any work starts.
- The price does not move unless the work does, and we agree first.

Close to the line and not on the list? Call and ask.
Tell me what is slipping
